Tomahawk Desktop switches to BSD and raise funds

Tomahawk Computers Pte Ltd, Singapore (www.tomahawkcomputers.com), the makers of the Tomahawk Desktop operating system, is pleased to announce that the next version of the Tomahawk Desktop operating system would be based on the rock solid BSD code.

Tomahawk Desktop operating system is a general purpose operating system for personal computers/laptops based on BSD code with K Desktop Environment (KDE).

Current predicament of the desktop operating system market is people are in fact left with only two choices, either live with very serious security issues or buy software tied to hardware at high premium. This situation obviously create a lucrative and large market opportunity for us.

Our mission is to offer a secure operating system for desktop, laptop and mobile devices markets based on widely known Unix strengths for both closed source as well as open source applications and drivers to flourish without any legal hassle on wider choice of hardware.

Earlier versions of the Tomahawk Desktop was based on Linux for practical reasons. After evaluating various BSD offerings we have decided to use the FreeBSD as the foundation for Tomahawk Desktop kernel and for its key libraries. Development of the Tomahawk Desktop version 2.0 based on BSD code is now under way.

One of the distinctive features of the Tomahawk Desktop version 2.0 is all user applications run in real-time as in Apple Mac OS X. Ability to run user processes in real-time is a fundamental requirement for professional audio and video production and playback. As part of our strategy we intend to offer Tomahawk Desktop free of charge for personal use, but we charge for corporate use.

We are now equip with a viable operating system based on BSD code, time is right for us now to raise funds to expedite the development of Tomahawk Desktop. To jump start our efforts we are now offering long-term investment opportunities in our Phase One fund raising campaign into the Tomahawk Computers Pte Ltd. For detail, please refer to our website.

Proceeds from the fund raising will be used to release Tomahawk Desktop version 2.0 as early as possible and position ourself for the development of the Tomahawk Desktop version 3.0 to be released in 2010. We would be setting up a public limited liability holding company to foster, protect and promote the core operating system business by way of strategically creating and acquiring companies.

Investments made into the Tomahawk Computers Pte Ltd will be then transferred to the holding company. Investors of this Phase One fund raising campaign will be given one bonus share of the holding company for every US dollar invested. Investors will be given opportunities to convert their initial investment in the Tomahawk Computers Pte Ltd to the shares of the holding company. It is the shares of the holding company will finally be listed in a stock market.

Investors of the Phase One fund raising campaign would share the long-term success of the Tomahawk group of companies and hopefully benefit handsomely in the long run. Further, we would be inviting some of the institutions or individuals to accept directorships of the holding company that we think can benefit or can make a significant contribution for its strategic direction.
